I Cut My Hair For The Little Princess Trust

Sunday, 8 November 2015

Hello lovelies!
So last Friday I made a big change to my life...well...my hair, I cut about 10 inches off for the Little Princess Trust!
The Little Princess Trust is an amazing charity that provide wigs for children with cancer who have lost their hair through treatment as well as children who have alopecia. They work with specialist suppliers and experienced hairdressers who offer wigs tailored to each individual child's needs to give them the most realistic look and feel to their original hair.
All of the donated hair that the charity is sent is forwarded to a wig manufacturer in China whom they have an arrangement with. The wigs created with donated hair are given to the charity free of charge, however, if a donated hair wig is inappropriate for a child then the charity will purchase one specially. These wigs can cost around £350 which is why I decided to fundraise and donate hair.
Admittedly I was rather nervous before the chop as I haven't had short hair in five or six years and had gotten very attached to my long hair. But I did it! And my hair will be sent off to be blended with at least five other hair donations to make one single wig!

If anyone would like to donate to such a good cause then I have a BT donate page here: mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/amylindley1
It'd be enormously appreciated by not just me but the charity and the children that you'd be helping, even if it's only a pound!

I used the charities website to help write this post.
