Music Monday #3

Tuesday, 15 April 2014

Hello!

I felt like it was time to update you guys with my current music favourites!

What with finally buying my Reading Festival ticket I felt like I should check out some of the acts I'd never heard of! And then there's the ones that I already love!

1) Boston Square by Deaf Havana

My friend first introduced them to me sometime in October and since then I have been obsessed by their album which is also on my birthday wishlist!

2) Do I Wanna Know? by Artic Monkeys

Just Artic Monkeys.

3) My Love by Route 94

This song was stuck in my head for my entire eight hour work shift last Wednesday, shout out to the guy on the till opposite who put it there in the first place!

4) Sex by The 1975

I got this vinyl for Christmas and I have to say - it's sounds so good! I also love Matty Healy's hair.

5) She Looks So Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer

Okay, so this really isn't Reading Festival music but this is such a catchy tune and I just can't help but sing along when I hear it!

Sorry for posting this so late! It's barely Monday still but I got distracted by Made In Chelsea. Let me know your current favourites in the comments!

My Birthday Wishlist!!

Friday, 11 April 2014

Hello hello hello!

In two weeks will be my 17th birthday! So I thought I'd do a quick little post about what I have put on my wish list.

1. Driving Lessons!!

Finally, I have reached the age when I can learn to drive and buy a car and be able to get myself to places without having to rely on other people or public transport! (although I do love getting the train!)

Dream car!

2. New Balance 574 in Grey and Purple

I love these shoes as the colours go with pretty much any outfit as well as being very comfortable to wear at sixth form, so they'll get worn a lot!

3. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire DVD

This movie was probably the best sequel I have ever watched! (well except Harry Potter...but that's coming from a hardcore Potterhead) and I cannot wait for both parts of Mockingjay. There has only been four books I've cried at and Mockingjay was one of them.

     4. An Earring Holder/Earring

It's been something I've been meaning to get for a while as at the moment I only have a pot for my earrings, which makes it difficult to find a matching pair. I also need new earrings as the ones I have are boring me at the moment!
I'm thinking something similar to this...

5. Deaf Havana "Old Souls" Vinyl

Hey, some people may call me an indie-wannabe but I love the sound of vinyls compared to CDs and Deaf Havana is a band that I've recently got into AND I get to see them live at Reading Festival!!

6. Frozen DVD

Yes I admit it, I do want to build a snowman! I initially didn't see this film and watched it at a friend's request - I LOVED IT! If you haven't seen it, do!

7. A World Map

A bit of a weird one some people might think but after I finish sixth form I'm planning on taking a gap year and stereotypically travelling as much as possible so I can work out what I want to do with my life! Hopefully a map will help me plan where I want to go!

8. Real Techniques Core Collection

I'm not going to pretend that I am pro at make up or anything but I would just really like some great brushes to work with! All of the reviews from the hundreds of beauty bloggers has made me want them so bad!

I am so excited for this birthday for some reason! Leave a comment below with what's on your wish lists at the moment!

Skin Care Review | Simple Products

Monday, 10 March 2014

Hi there!

Since I hit puberty, I have always had a struggle with my skin - whether it be spots or it just being dry! I have tried so many products over the years that I couldn't count them on my fingers and toes put together.

However, recently I have been using the Simple skin care range which I think is just excellent for someone like me with sensitive skin!

For a long time I never bothered to properly remove my mascara, I would just wash my face and see how much the face wash would take off but after a while I noticed the effect it was having on my eyelashes. They would get clumpy and often fall out which wasn't a good look. Eventually, I got my hands on the Simple eye make-up remover! Which is so kind to my eyes (as it says on the bottle!)

I use the toner to clear my skin of any excess oil or dirt which has been left behind after I have cleansed. I love it because it make me feel fresh faced and ready for the day.

As I am someone with sensitive skin it also means that it can get insanely dry when the weather changes - I don't really know why! So I have two different Simple cures: a rich and a light moisturiser. I use the light one in the morning before I put my make-up on to help get me through the day and then the rich one at night to give my skin a bit on intense moisturising! They just work so well with my skin I wouldn't look to any other brand.

Comment with your favourite skin care brands and share any tips for clear skin!

February Favourites!

Sunday, 2 March 2014

Hi there!

Long time no speak but I've been busy with life! So by now it's January Blues season when people who made a resolutions to eat healthier and go to the gym realise that they haven't and those who vowed to drink less realise that they had a whole bottle of wine to themselves last Friday night! (Obviously, not me as I am under age!)

Anyway I thought I'd share what has made my February just that little bit brighter!

To start, I have had an absolute obsession with Vaseline since I got a set for Christmas. I normally don't do anything about my dry lips when I get them but recently I've just  got so into taking care of them!

Another product which I have been loving recently is my Simple moisturiser. With the cold weather worsening my skin can get incredibly dry so this amazing product has being keeping my skin nice and hydrated.

For Christmas I got this gorgeous Nina Ricci perfume and it is just such a lush smell to brighten my day!

Now, I may not have made a resolution to eat healthier as that seemed too official for me, but I have been eating more fruit and salady things! And my most loved fruit this month is Kiwis! They are so easy to pack into my school bag when I don't have time for breakfast, that, and I have these special Kiwi spoons which I think are awesome!

The things that have made me the most happiest in this last month is Ikea and Argos! And the reason for this is because I have been re-decorating my new room! These websites have been so helpful with fairly cheap furniture and storage systems it has been so much fun and I'm not quite done just yet!

Sorry the photo wouldn't rotate!
My best find was this cutlery organiser which I have used to store all of my extra stationary. I also found this adorable metal pot which I store my make-up brushes in.

Leading on from my last point, this month I have been loving anything cute, blue, green or white or all three! Oh the perils of re-decorating!

I've used this old GU pudding jar to hold my candles and just added some skinny plaid ribbon around the top to give it a cutesy feel.

I found this fabric on eBay and I thought they were really interesting patterns and colours to come together so I thought of making some bunting and scrunchies with it!

What have been your favourite things this month? Leave a comment below!

My 2013 in Instagram Pictures!

Saturday, 18 January 2014

Hi there!

I know it has been ages since I blogged but literally my life has taken over at the moment; I've got a job, deadlines and a school production all to navigate! So, sadly, blogging has kind of taken a back seat.

Anyway, I have decided to kind of show what the second half of 2013 (I only got Instagram in May) meant to me through my Instagram photos!

Posted 5th May

My summer shopping addiction began early this year! and in a New Look changing room!

Posted 11th May

My friend recommended that I read this book and it is quite simply amazing! I stayed up until 2am and cried my eyes out...it was still good.

Posted 23rd May
I finished Year 11 for study leave...and this was the last walk to school with my friend Alex after five years! :'(

Posted 22nd June

I was so close to finishing my exams!

Posted 24th June

So I proceeded to buy myself an end of exams present in the form of Barry M nail varnishes!

Posted 30th June

Prom also happened around this time...

Posted 11th July

...as did a shopping trip to London! Which I wrote about in a post here.

Posted 29th July

I also went on holiday to Switzerland, which was a new experience with all the different temperatures!

Posted 22nd August

I passed my GCSEs! 1 A* 3 As 4 Bs and 4 Cs - Yeah Baby!

Posted 3rd September
I also passed my Grade Seven ballet exam with a merit! Even with injuries and exams at the same time.

Posted 27th September (not my photo)

I moved schools and met an amazing group of new people!

Posted 31st October (no my photo)
I also met my best friend Nicola, this was the first photo of us together! We dressed up as zombie cheerleaders for Halloween!

Posted 7th November
I then went on this weird health kick throughout November...and I can't even remember why!

Posted 8th November
After months of waiting I finally got to see Gabrielle Aplin live and she was so incredible! I was right at the front and it was such a good night.

Posted 27th November
I think my year - no life - was made when my mum took me to the Harry Potter Studios! I was so excited I was literally about to explode!

Posted 2nd December
And less than a week later I was invited to London by none other than the producers of Harry Potter - Heyday Films!

I didn't really do a lot in the run up to the New Year after this, there were so many deadlines and overtime at work that I didn't do anything interesting to be honest. So I think I'll just leave you guys with a picture of my favourite Christmas present from my amazing boyfriend! Oh yeah and follow me on instagram - amy_caitlin24!
