Maybe I Ate Too Much Cake...

Wednesday 30 April 2014

Okay, so a few weeks ago I did a post about what was on my birthday wishlist, and now my birthday has been and gone I thought I would show you lovelies what I got!

DVDs

These have to be my favourite movies at the moment, especially Frozen! I definitely turn into a big kid whenever I hear "Do you wanna build a snowman?"

Real Techniques Core Collection

Yes, I have finally joined the band wagon and got these amazing brushes. And I am so glad I did! They are sooooooooo good!

Deaf Havana Vinyl

This is one of my favourite bands at the moment and I am so excited to see them at Reading Festival this year!

World Map

As mentioned in my initial wishlist post, I asked for a world map so that I could plan where I wanted to travel on my gap year and now here it is pride of place on my wall.

Tickets to see Fame!

My boyfriend is officially the best! He is taking me to see Fame! at the Bristol Hippodrome! He is actually going to sit through a musical for me! I feel so lucky...

Perfume

His Mum also got me a top up of my favourite person from Nina Ricci...

Scarf

And his Dad and his Dad's girlfriend got me this beautiful scarf from Fat Face!

Meanwhile, my own parents got me the other things above along with some money for driving lessons which I can start as soon as I sort out my provisional licence!
My day was so lovely (except the mock exam I had to take) and so full of food!! Me, my boyfriend and my family went to a restaurant in Cotham called The Burger Joint and their food looks like this:

Definitely an A++ for lushness of food!!

That's all for now!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Saturday 19 April 2014

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls I decided to create a Style Steal for the movie of the decade focusing on skirts!

First up, for the casual mall trip, is the Regina George look:

Leather skirts are definitely a craze at the moment (at least they are where I live!) so you'll fit right in with this gorgeous faux leather skater skirt  from Miss Guided for £11.39. Miss Guided also have loads of other leather skirts - asymmetric, zips, the works! Team with a simple pink cardigan and you are practically Regina's twin, this one is from New Look for £9.99.

If you are a true Plastic and want to copy Regina exactly then you can grab her "A Little Bit Dramatic" tee here for just £14.99!
Finish this off with a coffee cup and a cute handbag and, hey presto, you have the look!

Next, the girl who thought tartan was like so fetch waaaay before this season: Gretchen Wieners

Most of this girl's outfits throughout the movie include a tartan skirt and as it is this seasons must have print I have found two very different skirts for her Style Steal! The lush pale pink A-Line is from Miss Guided for £19.99 and the bright blue wrap with a buckle just like Gretchen's is from River Island for £25.00! Both tops are also from River Island for £10.00.

And Finally, Karen Smith, who may say some silly things but that has not effected her fashion sense!

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely love a simple tube skirt with a gorgeous print and this one is from H&M for £7.99! They can be paired with any basic top for an easy-going summer look. But as this is a Karen look it has to be paired with a slogan vest; you can get this "Normal is Boring" one here for £8.91.
(Shoes £29.99, Zara - Bag £30, River Island)

I hope you enjoyed this Style Steal, more to come soon! Happy Anniversary Mean Girls!

The End Of An Era

Wednesday 16 April 2014

Hi there!

This is a bit of a sad time for me at the moment. An injury which I acquired around six years ago has gotten much worse; as a result of this I have had to quit my main passion in life: Dance

I have been dancing since I was two years old (I'm seventeen at the end of April), so you can see why this is quite a major thing for me, seeing as it has been something that I've devoted practically my whole life to.

It's something that has been coming for a long while but it's still terribly upsetting to have to let something you love go and I am going to miss it so so much.

But what am I going to take away from all this?

Some absolutely amazing life experiences...

In aid of the charity Barnardo's I have danced at both Wembley Arena and The Royal Albert Hall, which will definitely be something I will always remember!

Great Friends...

Organisation...

With all the different shows and costumes and make up and class timetables and dates I had to remember how could I not become organised?

And Talent...

So this may sound a little big headed...but I am so proud of myself at how much I have improved in the last few years and all my achievements! And now I have a talent that not everybody can do!

It's taken me a while to write this post as I feel like publishing this is really the end for me, which may be why it's come at a weird time. But, saying that I guess we've all got to move on from our childhood eventually just mine came a little sooner than I expected...

Anyway, I want to if any of you lovely people reading this have loved and lost something as I have?

Music Monday #3

Tuesday 15 April 2014

Hello!

I felt like it was time to update you guys with my current music favourites!

What with finally buying my Reading Festival ticket I felt like I should check out some of the acts I'd never heard of! And then there's the ones that I already love!

1) Boston Square by Deaf Havana

My friend first introduced them to me sometime in October and since then I have been obsessed by their album which is also on my birthday wishlist!

2) Do I Wanna Know? by Artic Monkeys

Just Artic Monkeys.

3) My Love by Route 94

This song was stuck in my head for my entire eight hour work shift last Wednesday, shout out to the guy on the till opposite who put it there in the first place!

4) Sex by The 1975

I got this vinyl for Christmas and I have to say - it's sounds so good! I also love Matty Healy's hair.

5) She Looks So Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer

Okay, so this really isn't Reading Festival music but this is such a catchy tune and I just can't help but sing along when I hear it!

Sorry for posting this so late! It's barely Monday still but I got distracted by Made In Chelsea. Let me know your current favourites in the comments!

My Birthday Wishlist!!

Friday 11 April 2014

Hello hello hello!

In two weeks will be my 17th birthday! So I thought I'd do a quick little post about what I have put on my wish list.

1. Driving Lessons!!

Finally, I have reached the age when I can learn to drive and buy a car and be able to get myself to places without having to rely on other people or public transport! (although I do love getting the train!)

Dream car!

2. New Balance 574 in Grey and Purple

I love these shoes as the colours go with pretty much any outfit as well as being very comfortable to wear at sixth form, so they'll get worn a lot!

3. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire DVD

This movie was probably the best sequel I have ever watched! (well except Harry Potter...but that's coming from a hardcore Potterhead) and I cannot wait for both parts of Mockingjay. There has only been four books I've cried at and Mockingjay was one of them.

     4. An Earring Holder/Earring

It's been something I've been meaning to get for a while as at the moment I only have a pot for my earrings, which makes it difficult to find a matching pair. I also need new earrings as the ones I have are boring me at the moment!
I'm thinking something similar to this...

5. Deaf Havana "Old Souls" Vinyl

Hey, some people may call me an indie-wannabe but I love the sound of vinyls compared to CDs and Deaf Havana is a band that I've recently got into AND I get to see them live at Reading Festival!!

6. Frozen DVD

Yes I admit it, I do want to build a snowman! I initially didn't see this film and watched it at a friend's request - I LOVED IT! If you haven't seen it, do!

7. A World Map

A bit of a weird one some people might think but after I finish sixth form I'm planning on taking a gap year and stereotypically travelling as much as possible so I can work out what I want to do with my life! Hopefully a map will help me plan where I want to go!

8. Real Techniques Core Collection

I'm not going to pretend that I am pro at make up or anything but I would just really like some great brushes to work with! All of the reviews from the hundreds of beauty bloggers has made me want them so bad!

I am so excited for this birthday for some reason! Leave a comment below with what's on your wish lists at the moment!
