Music Monday #5

Monday 29 December 2014

Today I am heading off to London with my boyfriend for a couple of days so I thought I'd do a Music Monday for the songs that will definitely be on my playlist for the coach journey!

1) From Eden by Hozier

This is what I call proper music! Stemming from my love of Take Me To Church I was so excited to see this new music video, I like the little stories they contain which aren't totally obvious at the same time.

I have a severe case of Wanderlust.

Wednesday 26 November 2014

wanderlust ˈwɒndəlʌst/
(noun): a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world.

So I am in my final year of school and am having to make some big decisions about my future at the moment: do I go to University, or go to College, or get a permanent job...

But I don't have a clue.

Film Review | The Riot Club (15) ***

Thursday 16 October 2014

Directed By: Lone Scherfig Starring: Sam Claflin, Max Irons, Douglas Booth, and Natalie Dormer

Based on Laura Wade's critically-acclaimed play "Posh", The Riot Club is a cocktail of absolute hilarity and pure shock, leaving me feeling shaken and not stirred by the end of it.

Bleach London Hair Crayon Review

Thursday 25 September 2014

For some reason I am having major festival blues this week! I have just managed to book my end of Year 13 girls holiday to Zante and I just want to get back in the party spirit!

So before I went to Reading Festival I decided I wanted to colour my hair, but not permanently as I quite like my natural hair colour. I did some research and in the end bought this : Bleach London Hair Crayon in the colour 'The Big Pink'.

London Adventure 2.0

Sunday 17 August 2014

Hi there!

My summer holiday this year was just going to London for a few days with my mum. I had such a lovely time doing really touristy things and shopping and of course eating lush food!

Mamma Mia at The Novello Theatre

Wednesday 13 August 2014

This has to be the highlight of my summer so far!
On Monday I was lucky enough to go and see Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre in London!
It was one of the best shows I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot!), ABBA's music mixed with an amazing cast made such a fun night.

Sunday 27 July 2014

Hi there!
I've recently made a change to the products in my daily make up bag.
I swapped my foundation for a BB Cream!
And yes I'm about three years late to the bandwagon since BB Creams first appeared in western countries in around 2011, but hey-ho!

Julius Caesar at The Globe

Wednesday 16 July 2014

So last Thursday I hopped on a coach (a swanky first class Turners one!) with the rest of the people doing Performing Arts and Theatre Studies at my school and we headed to London!
The purpose of this?

Mini Belgian Holiday Haul!

Sunday 22 June 2014

Hello! Just a quick post this week as I am busy getting back into the swing of school and all that jazz!

So, I thought I'd show you lovely people the few things I bought (other than chocolate!) when I was in Belgium a couple of weeks ago!

These beautiful nail varnishes were from a cool shop called Hema which sells a little bit of everything including the items below!

I love stationery and I couldn't resist getting these beautiful fabric tapes

Hema's make up range it pretty decent for what it is and I just happened to be looking for some new eye make up brushes when we were there! This is so handy for travelling as well!

And finally I also got these funky print shorts from a store called Vero Moda. I'm yet to see a store here in Britain, only in Europe but the brand is available on ASOS! I love the shorts as they are loose and perfect for a festival look!

That's it for my foreign purchases this time round! Which is your favourite? Comment below!

My Belgian Adventure!

Sunday 15 June 2014

Hi there!

I've been on my travels again and this time I went to Bruge in Belgium! This time I went with my parents as my exams finished before the end of study leave so I thought - why not?

We went for six days and actually spent five of them just in Bruge there was that much to see! On the other we went to Ghent and Ypres.
It was actually really nice and relaxing being able to get up, wonder around the town, look in some shops, go home and do a bit more relaxing before heading out for dinner!

So here are some pictures from the trip!

DIY | Beautiful Bunting!

Wednesday 11 June 2014

Yay! All my exams are finished so no more revising!
And now I have a bit of spare time on my hands I thought I would get a little creative!

Here are my instructions on how to make some adorable bunting in 5 easy steps!

What You'll Need
Paper
Pencil
Ruler
Pins
Your chosen fabric(s)
Fabric scissors
Thread
Sewing Machine
Iron
Ribbon or bias binding

    Step 1:
First you will need to cut out a template using paper or card. For the ones I made I decided on 11cm.

    Step 2:
Then fold your first piece of fabric in half so that you will have two triangles from each fabric.
    Have the right sides facing.

It's a little hard to tell with this fabric but it is right sides facing!
Pin the template to the open end and cut around it.

Repeat for however many triangles you wish to make.

    Step 3:

Next you will need to set up your sewing machine, I decided to just use white thread as it would fit with all my materials and would save me having to keep changing the thread!

Use straight stitch to stitch around the edges of your triangles except the top

At this point you can cut the excess point off of the triangle to save the bottom being a bit chunky like mine are.

    Step 4:
Now turn the triangles the right way round.

And iron them so that they stay all flat and pretty when you hang them up.

    Step 5:
Okay, so now it's time to actually put the triangles onto the ribbon, thread or bias binding you are using.
Measure how much you will need according on where you are wanting to hang it.
Equally line out your triangles along the ribbon.

Then fold it in half and pin it in place.

You will then need to stitch this with your machine again to hold the triangles in place.

And ta-dah! You have some beautiful bunting to brighten up your home!

I hope this post is helpful to any DIYers!! and if any of you make your own bunting I would love to see it!

Get Your Very Own FREE Graze Box!

    Monday 2 June 2014

    Hi there!

I got the opportunity to get my own FREE Graze box so I thought I would show you lovelies what I received.

    The different snacks!

First are these Jaffa Cake Flapjacks which are hands down my favourite thing in this box! They are so delicious that I litterally made the 'mmm' sound as I bit into it!

    Verdict: Love!

    Then Basil and Garlic Olives.

I love olives so I was quite keen to try these! They had an almost overpowering taste of basil but never the less they were still enjoyable!

    Verdict: Try

Now, these may be called Boston Baguettes but they are really just like tomato-ey bread sticks!

The gorgeous tomato taste goes really well with the tang of the BBQ relish.

    Verdict: Like!

And lastly, Lightly Salted Pistachios. Now, I'm not really a nut person normally except for the hazelnut which is in the purple Quality Street so I thought I'd give it a go...and I have to say I didn't like them. They were quite salty and had a little bit of a weird after taste.
    Verdict: Bin

So what can you take away from this post?
You too can get your first, fifth and tenth box free with my personal friend code!
    AMYL3M2WB

I would just like to thank Graze for how personalised my box felt as I had gone online and picked what I would like to try before hand and there were no nasty surprises!

    Happy Snacking!

    Collective Spring Haul 2014

    Sunday 25 May 2014

So, according to the internet, May is still Spring! Therefore it is acceptable to still call this a "Spring Haul", even if I am a bit late!

    Tops

This shirt I got in a lush little vintage store in Bristol called Sobey's!

    It was £20.00

I absolutely adore the collar, it's such a beautiful detail and would brighten any outfit.

This spring I am loving oversized clothes as you will soon see!

These shirts are from Matalan for £14.00 each!

I like the loose boyfriend fit as sometimes, with the English weather, it's too hot for a jacket but too chilly for short sleeves! And the looseness means that you don't get hot and sticky!

    Bottoms

Yay! I have finally found a pair of shorts which cover my bum and fit nicely!
I am so not keen on the hot pants style as I always feel self concious - even though I'm a small size I have quite big thighs so I just get uncomfortable.

These are "Mom" style, acid wash denim with deliberate distressing and are high waisted.
They were £19.99 also from New Look!

This gorgeous skirt was only £7.00 in the New Look sale!

It is an A-Line style and the material is quite thick so makes it so comfy to wear! Even though it's thick, I don't get too hot in it.

    Shoes

     And now for the shoes!

These mint sandles are my favourite thing from this haul!
They are so comfy and were only £8.00 from Primark! Can you believe it?!

I really love the toe design and the fact that it's got a little bit of a chunky sole so you're not completely on the floor.

I also bought some new converse style trainers from Matalan for £12.00 as my previous ones had a mahoosive hole in!

Trainers are a good way to make dresses and skirts a bit more casual for everyday way and also to make your feet more durable!!

This haul was definitely not bought all at once! It's everything I have accumulated throughout this season!
Comment below with you favourite item!
